Malaysia

Malaysia is a vibrant country in South East Asia, that attracts around 28 million visitors each year, around the same as its population. With strong historical and cultural ties to both China and India, it’s a blended mix of many traditions and food.  It’s home to beaches, rainforests and the world’s largest twin towers.

Malaysia has 11 states and 2 federal territories, one of which is the capital Kuala Lumpur.  The Malaysian mainland is separated from East Malaysia by the South China Sea.  In East Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak (Borneo) and Labuan are also part of this diverse country.

Malaysia is a gastronomic delight, taking full advantage of its ethnic origins to produce some of the best variety and best-tasting food in all of Asia.

How to get to Malaysia:  Malaysian Airlines is the national airline but a range of full service and low-cost carriers fly to Malaysia.  AirAsia is the national low-cost airline.   Check out Skyscanner for flights and availability.

Electricity: Malaysia uses G plug, the same as the United Kingdom.  Voltage can vary between 220 and 240 volts, 50 HZ.  Universal adaptors are the best way of handling different electrical outputs.
