Vietnam is an exciting Asian country.  With incredibly friendly people, terrific fresh food, rich history and great cities to visit.  It is a vibrant country, worthy of anyone’s bucket list.

Having only broken free of communist rule in the early 1990s, Vietnam is now progressing in many areas and establishing its position as a sought after tourist destination.

Vietnam is known for the Vietnam War, but it is also known for amazing beaches, forests, rice fields, hill tribes, bustling cities and the mighty Mekong River.

Must-do: Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City (still known by the Vietnamese as Saigon), Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa, Mai Chau, Cuchi tunnels, beaches of Danang, Hoi An, Hue and the DMZ.

How to get to Vietnam:  Vietnam Airlines is the national airline but a range of full service and low-cost carriers fly to Vietnam.  AirAsia  VietJet and Jetstar are some of the more popular low-cost airlines.   Check out Skyscanner for flights and availability.

Electricity: Vietnam uses the A and C plugs. Voltage is 220 volts and 50 HZ.  Universal adaptors are the best way of handling different electrical outputs.
