Add in the Cinque Terre, the Amalfi Coast and Sicily, and there’s plenty of reasons to head to this incredible country.
If you love food, this is the place to be. From pizza, pasta and gelato – all well-known Italian favourites – to Parmigiano Reggiano, Parma, Modena Balsamic Vinegar, and all of the regional produce across the country. There are so many reasons to come back here over and over again.
But, Italy is so much more than just the ‘big names’. To know Italy better is to explore the regions and the small towns that you might never hear about from the glossy magazines, tv shows or travel agents.

How to get to Italy: There are two airports in Rome. Alitalia is the national carrier, but many low-cost carriers and other airlines fly out of airports all over the country. Check out Skyscanner or flights and availability.
Regional trains and inter-city trains operate all over Italy. High-speed trains are best for travelling long distances. Book via Rail Europe.
Driving is also one of the best ways to see the country, although avoid driving in Rome. It’s unnecessary and chaotic. Rental cars may be booked through Rentalcars.com.

Electricity: Italy uses the C, F and L plug. The voltage is 230V with 50 Hz frequency. Universal adaptors are the best way of handling different electrical plugs.
